Meet the teachers, who are not just great at teaching but are driving a change with their exemplary cause. They are definitely setting an example for their students.
From the likes of Aditi Malli, to Vaishali, a Gujarati living abroad, teaching Gujarati online. These women are facilitating a change in the teaching field. Besides business, Gujaratis do have a knack of teaching also. 🙂
Aditi Mali – teacher-cum-urban farmer.
Let’s meet Aditi Mali, who is a hands-on teacher cum urban farmer. While teaching Urban Agriculture in acclaimed colleges of Ahmedabad, she realized a lack of understanding regarding the food system. Her students were not able to establish the connection between what they were learning. And thus, the idea of setting up an Organic microgreens – Mali Greens came into her mind.
Today, Mali Greens is one of the biggest producers of Organic Baby Greens in Gujarat. It is growing at the rate of 150%. Aditi has proved that she is an excellent teacher and an entrepreneur, beautifully blending theory with practical knowledge.
Vaishali A. Patel – founder of Sanskar Teaching
Up next meet Vaishali Patel, who is a Gujarati, living in the States. Moving abroad in an English-speaking country, having her own kids, she did not want her kids to miss out on the Gujarati culture. And realized there are many parents like her who did not want their kids to forget the Gujarati language & sanskar.
She founded Sanskar Teaching, an online teaching platform to teach Gujarati and Hindi. With the academy name – Sanskar, it perfectly resonates with Vaishali’s idea, to connect kids with Gujju culture & never forget their sanskar.
An interesting activity she has is – “Dada-ba”, where students have to talk with their grandparents in Gujarati. The grandparents’ reaction when their grandkids talk in Gujarati is more than priceless.
Vaishali’s pedagogy has definitely proven that there can be a fun-loving way to connect kids with their roots. Making $350k per year, she is an excellent example of a teacher with a cause making more than thousand bucks. She is definitely making Gujarat proud.
