People dabbled in various homemade snacks and sweets, no one focused exclusively on Shrikhand. The idea of Shrikhandam started with that simple observation. Initially known as ‘Derani-Jethani’ Shrikhand, the brand got its name from the co-sisters (Derani and Jethani). They jointly managed the operations. However, due to confusion around the name with another brand, it evolved into Shrikhandam. A respectful, Sanskrit-rooted identity that reflected the purity and richness of their offerings.

Rupal Bhabhi (Jethani) had been delighting her family and friends with her homemade versions. She is a shrikhand expert herself. The foundation for business was built on taste, trust, and teamwork. Her skills, and dedication was supported by the business acumen of her Derani (Pinky Bhabhi). Also, the food blogging insights by Nikunj Soni (her Devar) stood as a backbone to the business.

₹5000 and a Dream – The Beginning

Just enough for ingredients and storage, the journey officially started with a mere INR 5000 investment. They utilized their personal refrigerator, operating from home. Word-of-mouth worked its magic for them. With an overwhelming response, the entire investment was recovered within a week. And a loyal customer base was born almost instantly.

Today, their delicious tubs of Shrikhands are enjoyed in various cities. In Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Rajkot, Kutch, and even Mumbai they deliver now. In just three years, Shrikhandam has expanded its reach far beyond. With a shelf life of 48-50hours, and having robust courier networks, freshness is always prioritized. But success always is a result of hustle. The family handles over 150-200 calls during festivities and celebrations.

Operating from home hasn’t limited their vision – it has enriched it. The family setup has made it possible for everyone to contribute, especially during peak seasons. It also ensures that hygiene, love, and attention to detail are never compromised. Yes, it gets exhausting. But when the whole family joins in – from packing to logistics – it becomes more of a celebration than a chore. The joy of serving quality food, seeing repeat customers, and knowing their brand is part of someone’s special moment makes it all worthwhile.

As they say, “Sharuat Dheemi hoy toh chaale, but no compromise on quality” (Slow starts are okay but quality cannot be compromised).

A Flavour for Every Mood

At Shrikhandam the menu is not the conventional one. They celebrate creativity and delivers fresh and amusing flavourful Shrikhands and sweets. They serve the classics like Mango and dry fruit flavour which is customer’s loved. However, they’ve also introduced innovative combinations such as:

·       Vanilla Shrikhand (made using pure extract, not synthetic essence)

• Nutella Shrikhand (a hit among youngsters)

• Cherry CarnivalJambu Shrikhand, and the popular Lal Jamfad

Every flavour served is crafted thoughtfully. They emphasize freshness, authenticity and neglect using preservatives or any artificial additives.
